Under the League’s Policy and Procedures on Proposed Franchise Relocations (the “Guidelines”), the application was reviewed by the NFL Finance and Stadium Committees. Prior to the member clubs meeting to consider the application, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell issued a report addressing the factors identified in the Guidelines as relevant to the member clubs’ evaluation of proposed franchise relocations.
The Commissioner and membership had found in 2016, in the context of considering an application by the Raiders to relocate to Los Angeles, that the Raiders’ current home stadium is not adequate for NFL football, and must be replaced, a conclusion agreed to by the civic leadership in Oakland. Notwithstanding the established preference for clubs to continue to serve their existing fans and communities, the member clubs concluded that the Raiders should be permitted to relocate from Oakland. This conclusion has not changed in the past year. Similarly, the Raiders are not barred by the club’s current lease from relocating to another community.
The league called the Las Vegas proposal “clearly defined and well-financed” while placing blame on Oakland’s civic leadership for not finding a way to agree on a stadium that was “adequate for NFL football.”
“On March 27, 2017, League membership considered an application from the Oakland Raiders to relocate the club’s home territory to Las Vegas, where the club would play in a new stadium to be built through a public-private partnership,” the statement began.

The run in made Kathrine think for a split second about quitting the race, but she decided to press on. If she dropped out it would validate every doubter who said women couldn’t run the marathon — so she kept running, refused to quit, and told Arnie that she’d finish the race “on [her] hands and knees, if she had to.”

Switzer crossed the finish line in four hours, 20 minutes — still wearing an official number and being a registered entrant. It sent a message to the world that women were just as capable of running long distances as men. The media attention from running the Boston Marathon gave Switzer the power to help affect change, starting with women being accepted into major marathons as competitors, and continuing into her career as a journalist where she helped broadcast races and cover women’s running. Switzer is also credited with being a major factor in the Olympic Games including the women’s marathon as an event starting in 1984.
Elite Buffalo Sabres Jersey Now Switzer works with her own charity, “261 Fearless” — a non-profit with the goal of empowering women through running. Her bib number has become an iconic and vital symbol of equality, and on April 17 members of 261 Fearless will honor the 50th anniversary of Switzer’s run. Her courage proved that nothing is impossible and that all barriers are worth breaking down.
The Buccaneers picked up their fifth-year option on wide receiver Mike Evans, the team announced Monday.

Baseball and cats have more in common than you realize. Just to name a few instances: there was that black cat that purportedly cursed the Cubs in 1969; the Rays Matt Duffy has a chubby cat named Skeeter; this cat kept trying to catch a ball during the World Series; this cat caused a game delay during a minor league game; this fictional baseball cat only exists in the mobile game Neko Atsume, and his name is (no joke) Joe DiMeowgio; and most recently, we have Marlins Cat who invaded a game on Tuesday and was later adopted by a Marlins employee.
Anyway, the broadcast version does not do this cat invasion any justice, so here are some photos taken at the game, capturing the emotions of the cat that only professional photography can: None of them are wrong, yet its not enough to show support. Dissenting opinions must be castigated and sliced into ribbons. Thats an unfortunate side effect of this entire exercise. Its also unavoidable in a year when there are four worthy contenders, each of whom would make a fine MVP.
This was the year that broke basketball. Offensive records fell, defenses struggled to keep pace, and ball-dominant guards proved to be unstoppable. How can anyone definitively say that one player was better than the others when all four reached previously unimaginable heights?
For the fan just tuning in, seeing Goldberg with the crimson red Universal Championship raises enough eyebrows to immediately pique interest. Chances are they know who he is from the late 90s’ Monday night wars. He looks like he hasn’t aged, save for the snowy goatee. Knowing absolutely nothing about why he’s there or how he won the championship doesn’t matter. It’s Goldberg, the WCW guy, taking on Brock Lesnar.
Lesnar has been around wrestling and UFC long enough to where anyone can identify him. After all, that’s why he’s one of the biggest draws in WWE today. It’s what makes his matches seem grander than wrestlers we see every week on RAW or SmackDown.
Authentic Youth Cameron Wake Jersey Right now, it’s impossible to pin down a likely opponent for the fourth-place CONCACAF team. All of Iran, South Korea, Uzbekistan, Japan, Saudi Arabia, and Australia are possible matchups, with Iran and Japan looking most likely to avoid the playoff. That’s a real grab-bag of teams, both in talent and playing styles. There’s no guarantee of a good (or bad) matchup for the United States in the intercontinental playoff if they finished fourth in the Hex.
Authentic Youth Mike Fisher Jersey Still reasonably high, but the USMNT’s home win against Honduras and away draw to Panama were enough to make them favorites to finish third, even if dropping points against Los Canaleros dampened your spirits a little.
ESPN’s SPI has the United States at 82 percent to qualify for the World Cup, partially based on their results from previous years and how you might expect them to do going forward. This projection expects Panama, Honduras, and T&T to do enough damage to each other that the USMNT probably won’t need 17 points to finish third.
Why did Martellus Bennett sign with the Packers? Green Bay’s head coach thinks the two are kindred souls.
“I was really impressed with his personality,” McCarthy told Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. “Frankly, I may not look like it, (but) I kind of classify myself as a creative person. I’m married to an artist, and all my children are very creative. So I live in that type. That’s a reflection of my household with my wife Jessica and I.
“So sitting down and talking to Marty and his interests, and some of the things he does, he’s an extremely creative individual. When I meet people, I’m always curious on their view in life, how they look at things and how they process things. I enjoyed his view on life, the things he wants to accomplish.”
There will more than likely be a few NHL players who make the trip to Pyeongchang, but the majority of the players will likely come from the collegiate level like they used to. But that throws a whole new dimension into the mix, as college kids would have to forgo two and a half weeks of their school schedule in mid-February. Add that in with the run up to the NCAA tournament in March and you’ve got a lot of wrinkles to be ironed out within 10 months.
Also in play are the Canadian major junior leagues, but mid-February also brings challenges. Much like the NCAA, the month of February is the run up to the finals for each of the three leagues in the CHL before the league-wide championship in May.
It’s also uncertain if the AHL counts under the NHL’s restriction, but it’s unlikely considering the players are under NHL contracts.
The Dallas Cowboys have released Tony Romo and relinquished the rights to him, according to ESPN’s Ed Werder. The announcement came Tuesday, after the news that Romo would retire from the NFL and pursue a new career in broadcasting with CBS.
The Cowboys actually did Romo a favor by releasing him, though: It means he got to keep his $5 million signing bonus.

But since he’s not officially retired yet, he could pull a Brett Favre and change his mind. Now that he’s a free agent, he could technically sign with whichever passer-needy team needs him most.
Authentic Youth KeiVarae Russell Jersey
The four-time Pro Bowler has been linked to the Broncos and Texans, two teams with dominant defenses but serious questions behind center. If healthy, Romo can provide veteran leadership and steady, upper-tier passing. With three NFC East titles under his belt as a starter, the soon-to-be 37-year-old knows how to win — at least in the regular season.
The last of those three would be off the table in this mock draft since O.J. Howard of Alabama and David Njoku are both gone. That leaves offensive tackle and running back, and where Mile High Report’s Scotty Payne goes in the SB Nation NFL writers’ mock draft.
Payne: I know offensive tackle is a need for the Broncos, but the playmaking ability of McCaffrey is too good for John Elway and the Broncos to pass up. Also, there are multiple reports out there that Elway and the Broncos are high on the former Stanford star, so the pick makes sense.
Elite Buffalo Sabres Jersey With two major conference showdowns taking place in week 11 (Chiefs-Broncos and 49ers-Saints) the inter-conference contest between the New England Patriots and Carolina Panthers on Monday night has flown a bit under the radar. Have no doubt about it, though, this game has major playoff implications of its own.
Elite Brent Urban Jersey The 6-3 Panthers, winners of five straight, are football’s hottest team, and have closed to within a game of the Saints in the NFC South standings. They won the first four games of that win streak by 18 points before eking out a defensive 10-9 victory over the 49ers last Sunday. The 7-2 Patriots are coming off a bye week following a shellacking of the Steelers in Week 9.
The Steelers jumped out to an early 14-0 lead thanks to a pair of big plays from receiver Antonio Brown. He took an intermediate pass from Ben Roethlisberger and raced down the right sideline for a 34-yard touchdown midway through the first quarter, then turned a short reception over the middle into a 47-yard score two minutes later.
Despite their poor second halves, Stafford and Johnson still put up big fantasy numbers in the loss. Stafford threw for 362 yards, two touchdowns and one pick. Johnson finished with six receptions for 179 yards and two scores.
Big Ben had a big day, throwing four touchdowns to go along with 367 yards through the air. Antonio Brown fueled the majority of those stats, grabbing seven catches for 147 yards and two scores. Le’Veon Bell had a disappointing day on the ground, rushing for just 36 yards on 18 carries and failing to reach the end zone.
Oakland Raiders Marquette King is our favorite punter for many reasons. For one, he likes to practice in a Power Rangers costume from time to time. This time, he’s still punting and he’s in his typical practice gear, but he doesn’t have a football.
Elite Mens Ryan Kerrigan Jersey For Oakland quarterback Derek Carr’s birthday, King punted a damn cake and posted it on Twitter. You can argue that this is a waste of good cake, but sometimes those RTs are as delicious as birthday cake.
If you try this, it can work both ways: You can treat this as a fun way of telling a friend happy birthday. But if you’re mad at them, you can also kick a birthday cake. That way, you can express your frustration while still caring for a good friend. Thank you for innovating the birthday gram game, Marquette.
Elite Mens Patric Hornqvist Jersey Despite sounding like a menu misprint at a dubious Irish eatery, Matt McGloin ate up Houston’s secondary with enough deep shots and timely touchdown tosses to stake Oakland to a surprise road win. Houston also had another problem – Lamarr Houston of the Raiders, who paced the team with a sack and two knockdowns to lead yet another game effort from the Oakland defensive front. More good news for Raider fans – Rashad Jennings’ show over the last couple of weeks may have provided a stark enough example of the Law of Running Back Fungibility to keep the front office from handing out a pricey contract extension to Darren McFadden. Though a McGloin/McFadden backfield would be fun to watch in 2017, if for no other reason than making viewers think they’d stumbled onto a Gaelic football match.
Ben Roethlisberger may or may not have requested a trade, but he certainly hasn’t packed it in. Big Ben torched the Lions’ craptastic corners all day long, and The World’s Unlikeliest Red Zone Hero, Jerricho Cotchery, notched another score on a sweet fake screen pass.
At the start of the season, the Week 10 matchup between Philadelphia and Green Bay was set to be a battle of Pro Bowl quarterbacks. Instead, it will be a battle of the backups with Aaron Rodgers out for the Packers and unlikely to play for the Eagles.
Vick has bounced in and out of the lineup this season due to injury. Nick Foles has struggled at times in replacement duty, but has been terrific at others, including his seven touchdown performance last week against Oakland. On the other side, Seneca Wallace will make his first start since 2011 with Rodgers likely out for at least three weeks due to a fractured collarbone.
The Dolphins have been in the news for all the wrong reasons. Richie Incognito has been suspended indefinitely for the harassment of Jonathan Martin, and the coaching staff is coming under fire for their alleged involvement in the case.
The ongoing story has overshadowed a team that remains decent, even with a depleted offensive line. Cameron Wake took home AFC Defensive Player of the Week after Miami’s 22-20 overtime win over the Bengals. The Dolphins are 4-4 and still in good position to make a playoff run, but it’s hard to say how much the team holds together on the field with so much scrutiny off it.
In 2003, Gainesville watched, we can only assume enviously, as Bowe helped LSU to a National Championship. The next year, Bowe helped LSU defeat Florida, in front of tens of thousands of witnesses, right there in Gainesville’s Ben Hill Stadium. The year after that, Bowe’s touchdown helped LSU do it again, this time Baton Rouge.
Fact: There are 14 football NFL games happening this week. You can be forgiven if you forgot all about the games themselves due to all drama coming out of the Dolphins’ locker room. Or maybe you took one look at the schedule and decided that reading hot gossip was more interesting than the games. Three of the 14 games this week feature two teams with winning records. That’s bad, but it’s better than Week 9 which had exactly one game between two winning teams.
This might be the week to bet on the Falcons. Seattle’s coming off two ugly games. They beat the Rams in Week 8, with a little help from Brian Schottenheimer, and they needed overtime to take care of the Buccaneers in Seattle last week. Now, the league is sending the West Coast team all the way to the other side of the country. Pete Carroll’s team is 1-1 in the Eastern time zone this season. They should handle the broken-winged Dirty Birds, but six points feels a little generous.
An early Tennessee Titans lead has bred a chippy game between both sides Thursday night. The Indianapolis Colts defense was gashed by running back Chris Johnson early, and quickly became frustrated. Emotions boiled over in the second quarter when linebacker Erik Walden headbutted tight end Delanie Walker — when Walker wasn’t wearing a helmet.
Walden tore off Walker’s helmet in the tackle, which happens as part of the game, but following up the helmet rip with the head butt is a feat rarely seen. To make matters worse, there was no penalty flag or ejection on the play, despite the Titans appealing to referees.

This served as a spark, with both teams pushing and shoving on a routine basis. The Colts gave up 27 yards on back-to-back unnecessary roughness penalties to allow the Titans to kick a field goal, extending their lead to 17-3.

The second half of Thursday Night Football will be one to watch. Both sides are committing a lot of penalties and there’s no telling where this game could go.
